AI Catalyst For U.S. Economic Growth And High Wage Jobs

AI Catalyst For U.S. Economic Growth And High Wage Jobs
AI or artificial intelligence is the next big thing in many industries today. The technology is infiltrating every sector and exponentially ramping up the tasks that computers can perform. As a result, even though jobs creation has been growing over the past few months, AI can significantly increase that expansion with a lot more American economic growth and high wage jobs!

Starting from fitness-focused smartphone apps that adapt to women’s menstrual cycle to autonomous vehicles that use sensors and software to dodge stray animals, AI has influenced every part of human life. It has evolved from being just a trend to a core ingredient virtually across every aspect of computing.

In the modern world, businesses across diverse sectors use artificial intelligence as a tool to meet their goals, be it customer service through an intuitive chatbot or streamlining video production through synthetic voiceovers. For a term that dates back to 1956 and celebrates its 65th birthday this year, artificial intelligence has performed and revolutionized more than how anybody imagined.

Labor Department Reports Only 266,000 Jobs Created In April

The Labor Department’s BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics) reported this morning that U.S. employers only 266,000 new jobs were created April. This was far short of the 1 million new jobs expected by most economists. As a result, the unemployment rate rose to 6.1%.

Additionally, the leisure and hospitality sector, including restaurants, accounted for the bulk of employment creation in April, adding 331,000 jobs. The Labor Department said that reflected an easing of pandemic-related restrictions in many parts of the country.

Though our recruiters at Strategic Search Corporation continue to find that engineers, scientists, IT (information technology), R&D (research and development), technical or manufacturing technology talent in high demand and short supply, not enough of these STEM candidates are reflected in the job numbers. Therefore, a lot more needs to be done to educate and cultivate STEM talent in our country!

AI Technology Can Provide A lot More U.S. Jobs And Revenues

With only 266,000 new jobs were created last month, a lot more can accomplished by further escalating AI development in the United States. Especially with the passage of time, we have gained great faith in technology and machines, which has accelerated AI adoption and applications.

Today, the role of artificial intelligence in an enterprise has become so important that it has touched every facet of business, and its crucial place will significantly grow over the coming years. That’s why AI is a critical part of our nation’s future success including creating many high wage jobs.

Artificial intelligence, though revolutionary in itself, is an enabler that needs to be used effectively to achieve business objectives. Businesses are using AI agents to engage customers, rapidly create content, analyze transactions and detect fraud. Even though it comes with a lot of flaws, the speediness, customized content, and target recommendations, overweigh the cons.

AI driven technologies have the potential to enhance our lives as both learners and workers. Researchers and developers are continuously improving them to mimic human behaviors in routines like learning, problem-solving, and processing language.

While they are growing to be strong imitators of humans, they still lack essential human traits such as wisdom, insight, humor, and empathy. Fortunately, the next generation’s AI will carry all the objectives that humans think are essential for machines to cope up with them. The technological capabilities will attempt to solve real-world issues, moving beyond doing repetitive and routine works.

While mega technology corporations like Amazon, Apple, Google, and Microsoft are scrambling to infuse their products with artificial intelligence, other companies are hard at work developing their own intelligent technologies and services.
The rise of digitization and the thirst for automation are fueling the demand for AI solutions. Not just companies, even the governments are focusing on deep research in the field of finding, investing, and growing local talent to make their country the AI hub.

Artificial intelligence companies are also initiating to deliver a robust service to their customers by using sub-technologies like machine learning, deep learning, edge computing, business intelligence, etc. as their prominent business principle.

In a nutshell, AI is used as a tool to integrate multiple sources of data or a vast amount of data, data security, real-world applications, predictions, cloud operations, etc. With the arena of AI technologies at the beginning, the world has experienced so much so far. The future is anticipated to be more sophisticated and personalized with the help of artificial intelligence.

  1. Definitely a great read!
One thing I would point out is the general usage of AI. I think a lot of industries today have not completely adopted AI as the general folk understand it. That may yet be a far way off.
Today’s implementation in the real world apart from a few big leaders is still fairly basic and more statistically inclined.

  2. Abhijit,
I appreciate your comments on my recent AI article. Your artificial intelligence expertise is very much appreciated.

    Thanks again,

    -Scott

  3. AI along with IoT, connected vehicle, analytics, etc. will be transforming the way things are done much as the Interned did a generation ago. It is important that the workforce is ready for this transition.

  4. David,
I greatly appreciate your insights on the intersection of AI with IoT or internet of things. These technologies will definitely transform us as other technology has in generations past.

    Thanks for your contributions,

    -Scott

  5. Very nice read indeed!!!!

Be it Financial Institutions or the Big Pharma companies, retail industries or conglomerates, the applicability and usage of AI are wide spread and almost impossible to live without. However businesses are shy because they want tested and trained methods/ systems. AI trains over a period of time; just like humans. But that is something businesses are unable to wait for.
This is precisely the reasoning behind Augmented Intelligence. While AI stands for Artificial Intelligence; it can also be disclosed as Intelligence augmented with human intervention that learns and grows with every transactional experience.

While the world is flattening due to communication speed, AI will shrink it with more and more knowledge ; not just data.

  6. Srini,
I greatly appreciate your insights on my recent artificial intelligence jobs and technology article. A you rightly stated AI is growing and passing into many technical, engineering, scientific, R&D (research and development) and manufacturing areas. The future also looks bright for artificial intelligence in the economy and job front.

    Thanks for your contributions,

    -Scott
