I have noticed that singles are experiencing abnormal problems in this terrible jobs market. Besides being an expert on jobs, careers and labor issues, I head up one of the largest, non-profit, professional singles groups in the Chicago area with almost 600 members (Please go http://newlysingle.meetup.com/723/ for more details). As a result, I have heard many complains from members about their current employment (or unemployment) situation, which seem unique only to singles. One obvious employment issue is that they do not have the benefit of spouse who may be employed and bringing home paychecks. It is true that everyone is being hurt by the 10.2% unemployment rate, but singles seem to be an area that is not talked about much, but still is very much suffering.
