Job interview coaching can improve candidates chances of landing a job during this terrible coronavirus pandemic. This is the case because interviewing is the most important part of landing a job. One must interview well to land their coveted position. Historical employment research validates this fact.
Many Negative Employment Figures
The U.S. Labor Department announced today that 20,500,000 non-farm jobs were lost last month, pushing the unemployment rate to 14.7%. This was the largest over-the-month increase in history.
Additionally, U6, which is the broadest measure of unemployment and underemployment, registered 22.8. This means that 22.8% of the U.S. workforce is either unemployed, stuck in part-time jobs or too discouraged to seek work. This is 1 in 4 people you know!
Some Sunshine In The Sea of Gloom
Despite all these negative figures, some employers are still hiring. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) numbers also reported that the labor participation rate was 60.2%. Though this was a drop of 2.5%, it still means some employers continue to do job recruiting.
This particularly true within the Strategic Search Corporation niches of engineering, technical, scientific, information technology (IT), research and development (R&D) and manufacturing technology recruiting. However, because job candidate supply way outstrips demand workers must be even better prepared for their all-important job interviews.
Effective Job Interview Coaching Required
Because there are a lot fewer jobs and many more job candidates competing for employment, effective job interview coaching is a must! That is why we recently launched our revolutionary 12-step interviewing program to assist with job interview training during these difficult times.
Our job interview techniques help better prepare you for your interviews. This advanced preparation then increases your chances of landing your next job. The name of our program is World2Work®.
The primary focus of our program is to improve your interviewing skills. Employment research shows that the single most important part of landing a job is “selling” yourself during an interview.
Unfortunately, most job candidates do very poorly during this aspect of the interviewing process, especially those in technical fields. We have 30+ years of experience dealing in these fields. Our coaching can therefore help you to improve your interviewing techniques so you can outperform your job seeking competitors.
The first step is “Getting Your Psychological House In Order.” This is the case because research shows that if you do not deal with the stress of losing a job, then you will sabotage your next job. This short video from our job interview coaching will spotlight the importance of this important first interviewing step.
Other steps of our job interview coaching program will instruct you on how to interface with an interviewer as if they are your customer. You must ‘sell’ your background as a solution to the needs of their business.
However, before you do so, you need to convey a positive attitude. This will mean the difference between landing your next job or not. That is why this is the first step of our job interview techniques.
