Think Small For Jobs Creation!

With all the hoopla about Chicago possibly winning the Olympics, I believe president Obama should spend more time and resources on the real engine for jobs growth, small businesses. SBA (Small Business Administration) research shows that up to 80% of the net new jobs created in the last decade were by small businesses.

Though it is impressive to win the 2016 Olympics, more needs to be done now to help the real engine for jobs creation. Please think small as in small businesses Mr. president. Two suggestions are: 1) providing more and easier access to capital and 2) expanding successful programs like SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives), which provide training to entrepreneurs to start and expand small businesses. Though not as sexy as winning an Olympics, these will be the real drivers for more jobs!
