This was 2.3% higher than a year ago. Some examples included:<\/p>\n<p>1.<span style=\"white-space: pre;\"> <\/span>France at 9.9%<\/p>\n<p>2.<span style=\"white-space: pre;\"> <\/span>The United States at 9.7%<\/p>\n<p>3.<span style=\"white-space: pre;\"> <\/span>Canada at 8.7%<\/p>\n<p>4.<span style=\"white-space: pre;\"> <\/span>U.K at 7.3%<\/p>\n<p>5.<span style=\"white-space: pre;\"> <\/span>Germany at 7.7%<\/p>\n<p>6.<span style=\"white-space: pre;\"> <\/span>Italy at 7.4%<\/p>\n<p>7.<span style=\"white-space: pre;\"> <\/span>Japan was the lone bright spot at 5.5%<\/p>\n<p>What this means is the hardship that you are feeling is being felt widespread across the globe. Though there are no simple answers, I do once again repeat two important messages for you:<\/p>\n<p>1.<span style=\"white-space: pre;\"> <\/span>Resumes will not get you hired. Instead, you need to network. This includes joining associations in your field and meeting key decision makers.<\/p>\n<p>2.<span style=\"white-space: pre;\"> <\/span>Do not overlook temporary positions.
