It is the <strong>first time<\/strong> both teams have <strong>ever<\/strong> met for the Stanley Cup. Also, it will be the <strong>first time<\/strong> since 1978 that the <a href=\"http:\/\/blackhawks.nhl.com\">Blackhawks<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/bruins.nhl.com\">Boston Bruins <\/a>will meet in any post season game. During that series <a href=\"http:\/\/bruins.nhl.com\">Boston<\/a> won an opening-round series against the Hawks. Furthermore, it will be the <strong>first time<\/strong> they have played <strong>at all\u00a0<\/strong>since Oct. 15, 2011, when the Bruins won 3-2 in Chicago. The Blackhawks and Bruins didn&#8217;t meet during this lockout-shortened season because there weren&#8217;t any interconference games in the 48-game schedule. During that last meeting,\u00a0Tyler Seguin scored the only goal of a shootout in which Boston goalie Tim Thomas denied Jonathan Towes,\u00a0Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp in the tiebreaker.\u00a0Finally, it will be the <strong>first time<\/strong> two &#8220;original six&#8221; teams have met for the Cup since 1979 (34 years ago)\u00a0when the\u00a0Montreal Canadians beat the New York Rangers\u00a0in five games for its fourth straight title. Those Canadiens were led by coach Scotty Bowman, now a senior adviser for the <a href=\"http:\/\/blackhawks.nhl.com\">Blackhawks<\/a>, whose general manager is his son, Stan.<\/p>\n<p>Though many favor the <a href=\"http:\/\/blackhawks.nhl.com\">Blackhawks<\/a>, \u00a0due to having the best record in the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/National_Hockey_League\">NHL<\/a> during the regular season, I am afraid! <a href=\"http:\/\/bruins.nhl.com\">The Boston Bruins<\/a> are a <strong>BIG, ROUGH TEAM<\/strong> including having the both: a) the largest player in the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/National_Hockey_League\">NHL<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bruins.nhl.com\/club\/player.htm?id=8465009\">\u00a0in 6&#8217;9&#8243; defenseman\u00a0Zdeno Chara<\/a>\u00a0and b) seven others who are 6&#8217;3&#8243; or taller! This helped them to manhandle and shutdown the highest scoring team in the NHL during the regular season, the Pittsburg Penguins!
