Unemployed + 7.9 mil. (<i>Same<\/i>) Involuntarily working part-time + 2.2 (<i>-100,000<\/i>) mil. who are not even counted = <b><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">21.9 million workers<\/span><\/i><\/b> who are either <b><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">unemployed or underemployed<\/span><\/i><\/b> or <b><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">16% of all workers! = 1 in 6 workers still unemployed or underemployed in the May <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bls.gov\">BLS figures!<\/a><\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>3.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b>BLS said that the <b>National<\/b> Unemployment rate rose .1% to 7.6% in <b>May<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><b>4.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><b>Illinois<\/b> unemployment rate was 9.3% in<b> April.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>5.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b>The <b>gains<\/b> were across the board: a)<b> Professional and Business Services<\/b> added 57,000 (-16,000) jobs in <b>May (added 589,000 over the past year) <\/b>b)<b> Health Care<\/b> continues to add jobs and rose by 11,000 (-8,000) in <b>May<\/b> (<b>has averaged 24,000 new jobs per month over the last 12 months<\/b>) c)<b> Retail Trade<\/b> rose by 28,000 (-1,000) in <b>May<\/b> (<b>has averaged 20,000 new jobs per month over the last 12 months<\/b>) and d)<b> Leisure &amp; Hospitality<\/b> added 38,000 (same) jobs in <b>May<\/b> (<b>has added 337,000 jobs over the last yaer<\/b>)!<\/p>\n<p><b>6.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><b>Employment stayed the same in most other industries including construction<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>7.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><b><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">How bad is it?<\/span><\/i><\/b> \u00a0With only 175,000 new jobs created, it will take 7-10 years to get back to pre-recession levels!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Key jobs statistics for the month from The Bureau of Labor Statistics 1.\u00a0\u00a0 175,000 (+10,000) non-farm jobs added in May.
